An estimate is an approximation of cost based on typical scenarios — price ranges on our service pages are estimates only. A quote is a binding fixed price for a defined scope of work, provided after diagnostic inspection. We will never exceed a fixed quote without your prior written approval for additional work.

Only if additional work is identified during strip-down that falls outside the original quoted scope (e.g., cracked crankshaft, damaged block). In such cases, we stop work, provide a revised quote with evidence, and require your written approval before proceeding. You may also choose to abort the rebuild and pay only for inspection work completed. We never add unapproved charges.

Yes. All prices displayed on our website and in our written quotes include VAT at the prevailing rate (currently 20%) unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are no hidden VAT additions at checkout or upon collection. This complies with CMA clear pricing requirements.

We stop work immediately and contact you with a detailed report including photographs. We provide a revised quote for the additional work required. You may approve the revised quote and proceed, or abort the rebuild and pay only for the strip-down and inspection completed. We never proceed without your written consent.

Internal engine condition (crankshaft wear, block integrity, cylinder head condition) cannot be accurately assessed without physical strip-down. Providing a binding fixed price without inspection would risk either overcharging you for work not needed or underquoting and requesting more later — both of which violate fair trading principles. Our estimates reflect typical ranges; fixed quotes follow inspection.

Parts we supply are confirmed against your specific VIN before ordering to guarantee correct fitment. However, OEM part numbers vary by VIN, engine code, build date, and emissions version. Do not order parts based solely on our website descriptions or price lists. If you supply your own parts, our warranty covers labour only and does not extend to component fitness or compatibility.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be performed with reasonable care and skill. If work is unsatisfactory, you have the right to repeat performance at no cost. If repeat performance fails to resolve the issue, you may be entitled to a price reduction (full or partial refund). No. We do not require upfront deposits for engine rebuilds or mechanical repairs. Payment is due in full only after completion and your satisfaction. For large builds, staged payments aligned to milestones may be requested but are always agreed in writing beforehand. See our Financing & Payment Options page for full details.

We accept bank transfer (BACS), all major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and cash. Card payments are processed via encrypted terminal with no surcharges. Split payments across multiple methods are accepted. Full receipt and warranty certificate provided on completion. See /financing for details.

Collection and delivery is available nationwide but is quoted separately before booking. It is not included in standard repair pricing unless explicitly stated in your written quote. Free collection and return applies to repairs over £500 where arranged directly with us. Enclosed transport for non-drivable or classic vehicles is available at additional cost.
